Semiya or Vermicelli Upma is pretty much a very versatile breakfast dish. Generally vermicelli upma is made with wheat vermicelli, and the recipe can be kept simple and quick by just adding some chopped onion, peanuts etc or making it elaborate by adding in a variety of veggies to make this upma more flavorful and healthy.
The semiya upma that I have made here is by using Ragi or Finger Millet Semiya which also makes this a Gluten free dish. You can add, skip, replace any of the veggies that I’ve added here to make this dish your own. You can also use semiyas made out of various other millets like foxtail millet, finger millet, little millet, etc.
