Pulao is such a versatile dish and can be a quick fix to busy lunch/dinners. It’s a good idea to have protein in every meal of the day and this recipe is a perfect way to have good carbs and protein into a single one pot meal.

This Paneer Pulao is not like the regular street style one. It’s mildly spiced, flavors mainly coming from whole spices popped in this dish. I have used only paneer here but you could also add other veggies like carrots, capsicum, cauliflower, etc. This recipe gets done in under 30 mins and is healthy, wholesome and filling.

  • To make this pulao, start with heating a tablespoon of ghee in a pan. Add one teaspoon cumin seeds, cloves, pepper, bay leaves, cinnamon stick and cardamom.
  • Saute for few secs before adding grated ginger and half slit green chillies.

  • Now add thinly sliced onion, paneer cubes and saute for 2-3 mins.

  • Also add raisins, cashews and mix in well.
  • Then add 1 cup of washed rice along with 2 cups of water, salt and lemon juice. Mix well, cover with lid and cook for approx. 15-20 mins till the rice is fully cooked. Keep checking occasionally.

  • Once rice is cooked, turn off the flame, add chopped coriander and mix everything again.
  • This amazing and easy to make paneer pulao can be paired well with any soup of your choice.
