This Oats Egg Omlette is one the quickest and protein rich, power packed breakfast recipe that you can make when in a jiffy that will also keep you full for a longer time.

The humble egg has incredible health credentials. It is a great source of inexpensive, high quality protein that has several vitamins like vitamin A, D, B6, B12, minerals, selenium, zinc, folate and all 9 essential amino acids. Oats are originally gluten free and rich in soluble fibre, controls blood sugar levels and aids in weight loss.

The oats flour that I have prepared is by dry roasting instant oats in a pan for 3-4 mins on low flame until it turns crisp. Once cooled, I’ve popped it into a mixer jar to make a fine powder. You can also used rolled oats instead of instant oats here and make this well in advance which stays good for almost 1-2 months.

The spices used in this recipe give an Indian touch to the omlette. Also you have a great scope of experimenting with adding veggies over here.

Ingredients:

Direction:

  • Finely chop the onion, tomato, capsicum, coriander and green chillies.
  • Take 1/4 cup powdered oats in a bowl.

  • Now add the above chopped onion, tomato, capsicum, green chillies and coriander into it.
  • Whisk everything until it is well combined.
  • Add 1/2 teaspoon of oil in a pan and once it is hot, spread on the egg mixture and fry on medium heat from both sides, with the lid covered on, till the omlette is ready.
